Why We Exist
Cutout Designer started with a simple problem: our teenage daughter is a talented artist who wanted to share her designs with friends on custom buttons. After buying a button press, we quickly realized how frustrating the process was.
Getting art ready for buttons meant wrestling with Photoshop for hours - converting square images to circles, calculating bleed zones manually, arranging layouts to minimize paper waste, and hand-cutting everything. What should have taken minutes was taking hours.
So we built a better way.
We started with basic templates to handle the square-to-circle conversion and automatic bleed calculation. Then came batch layouts to stop wasting paper. Now we've added AI-powered design tools, text layers, and mail merge capabilities - features we knew makers needed because we needed them ourselves. And what started as a button tool now handles any custom cutout: same simple workflow, any shape you need.

Cutout Designer is built by a father-daughter team — we started as button makers ourselves.
With over 15 years in software development and hands-on experience running a small manufacturing business, we understand both the technical challenges and the real-world hustle of creative entrepreneurship. Our teenage daughter actively contributes feedback, feature ideas, and quality testing - keeping us honest about what actually matters to makers.
We're based in Florida, and we're continuously evolving Cutout Designer based on our own needs and the needs of our growing community.
